The Barony is one of Edinburghs last truly independent bars. The venue first opened as a drinks merchant in 1896, before becoming a pub - and it has been a staple of the Edinburgh scene ever since. When you visit, youll see all the original Victorian features, including real fireplaces, brewery mirrors, hand-painted 19th century tiles and the beautiful wooden bar. Loved by locals and visitors alike, The Barony has become well known for its delicious gastropub menu. We pride ourselves on creating modern versions of classic pub dishes, as well as lots of seasonal specials. Expect plenty of local seafood, meat and veg, alongside favourites like our famous mac & cheese and steak pies. Were also very proud of our drinks menu, which features local ales, single malts, craft gins and a selection of wines from across the world. The Barony is also a dog-friendly pub, and we have a full license for children up to 10pm - everyones welcome!
